Trainee Production Manager

Manchester International Festival in collaboration with HOME, the Royal Exchange Theatre and the Royal Northern College of Music invites applications for the position of Trainee Production Manager.

This is a 12-month paid position aimed at a budding Production Manager who wishes to develop their professional skills and work experience in the North West. The successful applicant will be hosted by MIF during the 2015 Festival and then seconded to partner organisations for three months each.

This will give the recipient an unparalleled opportunity to train with some of the most talented technical teams that the city has to offer, and on some of the most exciting projects. At the end of their 12-month placement, they will have achieved a unique insight into the technical diversity of cultural projects presented in Manchester, the teams who develop and deliver them, and the opportunities for career progression in the city.

The post is offered as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme, aimed specifically at recent arts graduates whose circumstances mean they would not otherwise be in a position to develop their skills and CV through unpaid work experience.

In order to be eligible applicants must have:

  • Graduated from an undergraduate arts degree in 2013 or 2014 with a 2:2 (or higher) and
  • Must have been in receipt of a full maintenance grant during the full period of their course and be able to verify this with the necessary paperwork.

Please ensure that you meet these criteria before applying for this position.

The Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries programme is run by Jerwood Charitable Foundation with the support of Garfield Weston Foundation, Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation and J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust.

To apply, please download all of the documents below:

Please send completed application forms FAO David Fox to recruitment@mif.co.uk - marking TPM15 in the subject field.

The closing date for applications is 22 April 2015

Interviews are currently scheduled for 29 April 2015.

All short-listed candidates will be contacted by phone or email. Please note – as we receive so many applications we regret that we are unable to reply to each one individually. If you have not been contacted by 27 April 2015 please assume that your application has not been successful.
