Chief Executive & Artistic Director
Manchester is probably the most radical and important arts festival today.’
The New Yorker, July 2013
Manchester International Festival (MIF) is unique: an artist-led, commissioning biennial festival presenting new work and special events from across the spectrum of arts and popular culture.
Under Alex Poots’ leadership MIF has established itself as a world-leading festival in just ten years. MIF13 presented 18 commissions and 314 performances with over 246,000 attenders; many of our commissions go on to tour internationally.
We are now looking for a new Chief Executive and Artistic Director who will drive the artistic vision for MIF, delivering an exceptional festival every two years and contributing to the development of a major new international arts venue in Manchester.
The successful candidate will have an international reputation as a creative producer, cultural leader or practicing artist with the ability to inspire, challenge and energise people.
For further information, please contact AEM International at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Closing Date: 5pm GMT on 02 March 2015
MIF is committed to equality and diversity and welcome approaches from all sections of the community.
The fifth Manchester International Festival runs from 2 – 19 July 2015.
There are many ways that you can be part of the MIF team; whether that is training for an apprenticeship, working for us or volunteering during the Festival. Any vacancies will be posted on our website, Facebook page, Twitter and in our enewsletter.

‘I loved my time at MIF and I have been telling everyone I know what a great experience it was! It’s really changed my life, as cliched as that sounds, so thank you very much for the opportunity!’
