Dave Haslam

Dave is a writer, broadcaster and DJ who made his name DJing at the Hacienda in Manchester through the late 1980s and has since played worldwide, including Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Lima, Chicago, and New York. He’s written three books (including the acclaimed Manchester England), and his journalism has appeared in NME, The Times, The Guardian, The London Review of Books, and The New Statesman. He’s cooked cauliflower cheese for Morrissey and appeared in two films; Sonic Youth have slept on his floor; he took John Peel to see Public Enemy; Tony Wilson threatened to shoot him; and he’s created an installation for an art exhibition in Berlin. He has appeared on countless radio and TV shows, among them BBC2/VH1’s Seven Ages of Rock and the recent Looking For Manchester (ITV1/Canal Plus).
