Massive Attack consists of Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall. Formed in 1988, the band's first album, Blue Lines, launched them into the charts with the song Unfinished Symphony, with vocals from Shara Nelson. The album also featured collaborations with Horace Andy and Neneh Cherry.

The third studio album from Massive Attack, Mezzanine, reached number one in the UK charts. Collaborating again with Horace Andy on three songs, the album also featured vocals from Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins on the hit song Teardrop.

The band has won numerous awards throughout their career, and are considered to be the founders of the trip hop genre.
