MIF Creative is Manchester International Festival’s creative learning programme, launched in 2009. At its core is a series of commissions created by leading UK and international artists developing new work in collaboration with local communities.
These commissions are supplemented by other programmes which support the development of local creative skills.
We are currently developing plans for the new MIF Creative programme for the 2011 Festival. Click here to see what happened in 2009.
“One of the elements that makes the Festival so distinctive is the MIF Creative series, which takes the arts into the heart of the community. This is not a worthy operation in “social inclusion” but rather a programme of high-quality art works, as can be witnessed in the commissioning of Something in the Air.”
