Il Tempo del Postino, the extraordinary ‘exhibition in time’ premiered at the 2007 Manchester International Festival, is to make a return at this year’s Art Basel.

For three nights in June, the ground-breaking experimental group show curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Philippe Parreno will be presented at the Theatre Basel, with some new artists also now contributing to the pioneering work. Click here for information.

Conceived as a group art presentation that would occupy not gallery space but stage time, Il Tempo del Postino boldy set out redefine the very concept of an exhibition, in the process leaving audiences at the Opera House moved, bewildered and thrilled. With a startling variety of performance types, with actors, singers, dancers, contortionists, remarkable costumes and a live bull, Il Tempo was regarded by many Festival visitors as truly unforgettable.
