The Pianist returns
Manchester International Festival 2007’s acclaimed production of The Pianist is to return this June for ten nights at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
Featuring Peter Guiness as the narrator of Wladyslaw Szpilman’s original text and Mikhail Rudy playing the music of Chopin, the production will make use of the Royal Exchange Theatre’s intimate performance space to reflect the haunting beauty of Szpilman’s powerful story.
The Neil Bartlett-directed play prepares the way for the theatre’s transformation into a bingo hall for Bartlett’s new work at the Royal Exchange Theatre for the 2009 Festival, Everybody Loves a Winner. For more information about this new play, visit the event’s page.
The Pianist runs from Wed 17 to Sat 27 June. Click here for more information, on the Royal Exchange Theatre’s website.
